The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, was given the ticket from his daughter on their way to his family birthday lunch.
“I scratched the ticket before we left to go to lunch and saw that it was a winner but I waited till we were all at the table before I asked my daughter to check it for me,” laughs the winner.
“She wasn’t very polite to me when she saw that the ticket she gave me had won $20,000,” he says.
“I thought they would have shouted me lunch for my birthday but after I won on the ticket, they all made me pay!’ he jokes.
The winner plans to share the winnings with his family but for now the money will go into a high interest account.
There are two top prizes of $20,000 remaining on the $2 Little Treat ticket.
